First Big Update

REJOICE!

The first fully realized version of Flak Arcana is here, it took a while to develop, but hopefully the game is in a easily playable state after the first playtest version was reviewed, there is a lot to discuss in terms of design but I'll stick to a few points.

I'm a big fan of tabletop games where I can collect, paint and kitbash cool thematic forces, but I found that most of these games rules too complex for playing regularly and introducing to new people, so I devised Flak Arcana as my own personal solution. The game is meant to be generally generic and simple, with clear inspirations from Warhammer games and D&D for its mechanics, any person familiar with these should be able to pick up Flak Arcana in no time.

But I was inspired by the strategic depth seen in video games like Clash Royale and Mechabellum, games consisting of assembling forces from universal unit rosters where the mechanics are simple for fast-paced matches, but the uniqueness of each unit adds the infinite depth of list-building.

Thematically I've held one idea from an old cult-classic game called Arcanum, the idea that magic and technology oppose each other, you are welcome to call me out for ripping off this idea, but the studio behind Arcanum is long dead  and for over 20 years nothing has quite scratched that itch so I'm doing it myself!

However unlike Arcanum, and most popular tabletop games, I want to focus on a vibrant, vivid and fun world, Flak Arcana's world could be seen as a fusion of Metal Slug, Clash of Clans and Disney's Atlantis, (machines, magic, and fantasy mercenaries).

For what is available I'm starting off simple, a starter guide for getting into the game as well as the rules and datacards required for play in simple letter-size printable pdfs.

Long term plans if the project gains traction are to make 3D model stl files to make printable minis in the game's artstyle, but that needs funding, time and patience.

I'm very excited to hear people's thoughts on the game and in my wildest dreams, see custom miniature kitbashes and collections. Thanks for reading!
